JOB OVERVIEW 
We are seeking dynamic, results-driven Regional Sales Managers to oversee and support our team of independent sales representatives in the Eastern and Western regions of the U.S.  These are remote positions requiring significant travel to develop strong relationships, coach sales reps, and ensure consistent implementation of the Wausau Tile sales process. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a passion for building and maintaining client and team relationships while driving alignment with company sales goals.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Coaching 
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of 15-20 independent sales reps to achieve and exceed sales objectives. 
  • Reinforce and ensure adherence to the Wausau Tile sales process to maintain consistency and effectiveness in sales efforts. 
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions, role-playing exercises, and sales team training to develop the reps’ skills.
  • Help reps expand their customer base, increase sales, and increase transaction size by selling the full array of products across Wausau Tile’s five divisions. 
  • Provide actionable feedback to sales reps to improve performance and address challenges. 

Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to drive growth and meet company goals.
    • Analyze market conditions, customer needs, and competitor activities in the region.
    • Identify opportunities for growth, such as expanding into new markets, targeting new customer segments, or introducing new products/services.
    • Define specific objectives for the region, such as sales volume, market share, or revenue targets.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and provide insights to the team for continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure alignment in regional campaigns and initiatives. 

Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, architects, designers, and specifiers. 
  • Support sales reps in closing high-value deals and navigating complex projects. 
  • Represent Wausau Tile at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to promote the brand and expand its reach. 

Market Analysis & Expansion 
  • Analyze regional market trends, identify new opportunities, and develop strategies to capitalize on them. 
  • Provide feedback to senior leadership on competitive landscape and product demand. 
  • Collaborate with the product development team to address client needs and preferences. 


Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably within the architectural, construction, or building materials industries. 
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of managing and coaching sales teams. 
  • Demonstrated ability to train and reinforce sales processes while driving results. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze data and drive performance improvements. 
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools. 
  • Availability for frequent travel within the region (up to 75% of the time). 

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred). 
  • 5+ years of sales and team management experience.
